Project
We began the project by water blasting the tanks and pipes with 3,500 pressure units to remove loose coating and dirt build up. Next we applied a surface tolerant dry-fall primer at the rate of 4 to 7 mil thick. This primer provides excellent corrosion protection. Our topcoat is an aliphatic urethane with a mold inhibitor, which provides an automobile type finish with UV protection even when exposed to a variety of harsh chemicals. Our product will not chalk and will provide years of protection. Our system was 4 times faster than the old style bush and roll of our competitors, lasts 3 times longer, resists mold growth, and looked considerably better. Pictured below are various pictures start to finish. Each group of three depict the pressure washing, priming, and final coat of the pipes and tanks at the Rochester terminal.
